Very unsual and interesting train in Osaka, Japan

I had to get from Osaka to Kansai International Airport today. Usually I take the Haruka from Shin Osaka Station. But it made sense to leave from the Nanba Station today since there was another, cheaper train leaving there to the airport that I hadn't used before. I was shocked and amused seeing this train roll into the station! (See below for pix and video.)
This train is about ¥1300 (~$13.) from Nanaba versus about ¥2900 (~$29.) for the Haruka, from nearby Shin Osaka to KIX.

Looks like a relative of Darth Vader or some sort of insect!

A bit difficult to see, but notice the panther pattern seat covers. A bit gaudy but it looks good in context.
